Life is composed of "Life Style Counsellors", who enable
people to retire with a plan for life. We do this by providing
personalized "Life Plans", which are customized solutions for everyday living
and reflect an integrated approach to a
retired life. We provide a plan for what your everyday activities
can be like.
Experience Life utilizes the Canadian Standards for a
Healthy Person as a starting point for each "Life Plan". In doing so,
we take into account things like your body mass index, chronic
conditions you already have (arthritis, diabetes, high blood
pressure, etc.), family cancer incidence (colon, breast, prostate,
and lung etc.), and any limitations (injuries that cause limitations
in daily activity) you may already have. Next we meet at your convenience to discuss your dreams
of retirement, your goals or wants of retirement, as well as how
your current lifestyle is contributing to those objectives. During
this meeting we also cover values towards many aspects of your life,
allow time to clarify them, and set an agenda to meet or exceed
those things that you value.
Most people who retire can easily fill 6 to 12 months
with projects, to do lists, odd jobs, and dream fulfilling activity.
But what about 3 years into retirement?
What is the "everyday" like for a retired
person? We help you define your own personal answer.
 This depends on
what you currently define exercise as.
Experience Life uses the word "activeness" to
describe the things you do daily to be healthy. Being active
includes many facets of everyday life; walking, vacuuming, using
stairs (even in your home), anything you do that makes your body
move. Activeness is physical activity and we aim to balance

But what if I
have arthritis or stiff joints? Osteoporosis? Concerns with my
heart? Am unsteady on my feet? Am afraid to go out in winter? Don't
have much time?
These are the words that begin many concerns. When we
initially meet we discuss all your concerns about becoming a truly
balanced person in your retirement, so please take your time. We are
here for you.
When you are not at work currently, where is your time
committed? We will talk about things you would like to do but just
have not - for whatever reason. We will talk about your values
towards health, spirituality, physical activity, as well as all the
possible costs involved. We do not suggest that we are going to
solve concerns; we will guide you through options to fulfilling
dreams and values.

We can
accommodate people outside the Toronto area. To develop a "Life Plan"
we are flexible with you. All forms necessary are available in a
variety of means; PDF format, e-mail, and fax. Meetings, when
necessary, are at a mutually agreed upon location.

Above all this
is a personal and therefore a confidential plan for your life. We
will not discuss your "Life Plan" with anyone but you. With you,
Experience Life enters into
a client/counselor relationship and all information will be up to
your discretion to make public to anyone other than
Experience Life Inc. |
